A Good Sign (From Inman News):
Sales of new and previously owned vacation homes rose last year, while investment-home sales dropped, according to a survey report by the National Association of Realtors.
NAR’s 2010 Investment and Vacation Home Buyers Survey includes responses from residents in 1,930 randomly selected households who bought residential real estate in 2009. The association conducted the survey in March 2010 and controlled for age and income.
Vacation-home sales increased 7.9 percent to 553,000 in 2009 from 513,000 in 2008, the report said. The market share for vacation homes rose to 10 percent, from 9 percent in 2008.

OK…LakePlace.com has opened an office in Crosslake Minnesota. For those soon-to-be sellers out there – we have always went after the “big” search terms but we did not pay enough attention to Crosslake, the Whitefish Chain of Lakes, and many others. We settled for”Minnesota” & “Brainerd” (we are #1 for Brainerd lake homes, Brainerd lake lots, Brainerd lake property, etc…) and of course we launched our Brainerd real estate website.
We are going to start getting serious about our results for Crosslake lake property and Whitefish Chain lake property among others. We are on the first page of the results for these terms – but we will be moving up the list. If you are planning on selling this Spring – be sure to give us a call.
