I wanted to share a couple of neat stories that came through LakePlace.com recently…A week or so ago, a soldier in Iraq (actually happens pretty regularly) requested a reservation from one of our cabin rental owners. He is going to be back in the States in May ’08 and wanted to celebrate his one year wedding anniversary with his wife at a cabin up north. My business partner and I love to see messages like this come through LakePlace.com.

Just a few minutes ago, this one came through on a lake home (for sale) listing:

I am now well into my 50′s. My uncle (Tony ****) owned this place in the 50′s and early 60′s. I spent much of my youth here. The breakfast nook looks exactly the same. I remember gathering berries and fishing for supper. I also remember some of the walls were made of a styrofoam type material that I got in a lot of trouble for picking at. Great memories though. The steps going down to the lake using natural tree roots as risers (barriers) for dirt stairs and cleaning fish at the lakeside table. We spent most of our evenings at the Pickeral Inn. This place gave me my love of natural wood. I now live in Camden, ME.

It is so much fun to work at a place like this. The hours are long, but we love what we do…and these kind of emails can really make your day! Thanks, Ray!
