Hello everyone…
Last night (and again this morning I think) WCCO ran a story on LakePlace.com – which you can see here.
Unfortunately, it has caused a case of serious deja vous. If you remember a while back, LakePlace.com traffic spiked during the state hockey tournaments…that was great, but unfortunately, our server could not handle it – so we upgraded to a shiny new server. It worked - it handled the increase in traffic very nicely. Well, here we are again – our site is running very slow due to the huge amount of visitor traffic pouring into the site.
This week LakePlace.com will, once again, migrate to a new and improved server. This one has all of the bells and whistles and will (definately) be able to handle our increased traffic load. We are in the middle of setting up the new server and getting it ready for the move. We hope to have this process completed in a couple of days.Â
So, if you are like us and you have a need for speed, we ask that you check back often – you will see a very noticeable difference in speed once the new server is installed.Â
Once again we apologize for the growing pains and technical glitches. We hope this will be the last time it happens. Thanks very much for understanding!

[...] We have finished setting up our new top-of-the-line, ultra-fast, ultra-powerful servers and we will begin moving LakePlace.com over at Midnight. You may have noticed a huge increase in speed in the last couple of days, and our new servers should make our page load time even faster. Needless to say, we are very excited - we think faster is better. This new platform should provide room for us to continue growing – and that makes us happy.  LakePlace.com may experience a few hours of down-time during this process – so if you are wondering what is going on…now you know.
